Discount Tires Online

It seems like it sneaks up all the time. One day I am driving like I always do, and then boom! My tire blows out. Now, this normally would not be a big deal, but after I take my car to the shop to have the tire replaced, the tire technician comes out and says all of my tires need to be replaced. Sheesh, just when I thought I was getting ahead financially, I am going to be paying around $900 for a set of new tires.

Well, this time I refused to pay retail. There are millions of tires manufactured each year, and I know the manufacturers have the production formula down to a science: low cost production and sell high to the consumer. Forget that, I want a discount on my next tire purchase, and I set out to do just that. I am going to share with you what I did to dodge going broke to equip my car with 4 new tires.

If Amazon can sell books for 20% less than Barnes & Noble and delivered them to your door, I knew there had to be a website that sold discount tires direct to my home. So my first stop was the internet. A simple search for "discount tires" and "car tires for sale" yieled hundreds of websites that offered discounts that I did not find at my local tire shops.

After going through about 30 of them, I began to notice a trend; most of them did not sell directly to the consumer. Some required you to order the tires through a tire shop, and have the tires delivered to the shop you were going to replace your old tires. Other shops allowed you to order the tires, but you had to have it delivered to a tire shop. Long story short, they did not ship it to your home.

Most of the time this is no problem, but I was going to replace my tires at home. After refining my search phrases I found a shop that shipped directly to the consumers. After looking at the pricing structure, I could understand why the other websites did not ship directly to the consumer. The shipping rates are insane. Most of the savings are erased by the shipping costs, so it takes the advantage out of direct to consumer selling.

So, I decided to have it shipped to a shop. They replaced the tires, and made some money from the installation. And I saved 30% (paid $500 for four, brand new tires) on my new tire purchase.
