Curing Bad Acne Through Your Diet
One way that many people overlook when combating bad acne is their diet. It was believed for the longest time that diet had absolutely no effect on acne, but that belief is unsettling. For nearly other modern ailment out there, diet has been shown time and time again to be a major influencer on its development and our fight against it. It shouldn't take any leap of the imagination to assume the same with the acne that plagues our faces and bodies.
The first and probably easiest way we can change our diet to help fight acne is by no longer drinking milk. Milk has getting more and more coverage as to its acne causing problems. One of the chief culprits for why is that milk is laced with androgens, or male sex hormones. These hormones enter our bodies and find their way to our pores. There they stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce oil. This creates acne by causing a build of oil inside a plugged pore and the oil that does make it our skin becomes a breeding ground for acne causing bacteria.
The next way we can fight acne through changing our diet is by reducing our intake of Omega-6 fatty acids and increasing our intake of Omega-3 fatty acids. One of the critical factors of bad acne formation is inflammation. Pimples becomes cysts because our bodies attempt to fight off the bacterial infection and inflammation is one of its weapons. Omega-6 is a pro-inflammatory fatty acid that encourages inflammation throughout our bodies. In contrast, Omega-3 is an anti-inflammatory fatty acid that discourages inflammation throughout bodies. You can cut down on inflammation by reducing your intake of vegetable oils and processed foods and subsequently eating more free ranged/organic eggs and wild salmon.
One of the best ways to fight acne is through changing our diet. It is not a miracle, one night cure, but requires persistent effort to change our habits. It addresses some of the causes of acne rather than simply using a pimple cream to treat the symptom.
