How to use Different Types of Denture Adhesive

There are three main adhesive standards available on the market today such as paste (or glue), powder and wafer thin liners. You will have to test each of these adhesives in order to understand which one of these meets your requirements.

Paste or tooth glue often called by denture users is one of the most popular adhesives. These can be found in tubes and squeezing it you can easily apply the paste onto the segment of the denture. There are many pastes produced under brand names so there are pastes of different flavors and strengths.

Right before applying the paste you will have to ensure that your dentures are clean. After that you will have to squeeze three lines in to apply to the upper teeth and a longer line to apply over the upper plate. For the lower teeth you will squeeze three lines and apply them to the gum ridges.

Another popular adhesive is the powder. It can be applied by simply spreading the powder covering the fixed form of the denture. When the powder gets in contact with saliva the powder will become sticky glue that will hold the dentures set up. However it is difficult to clean the glue from the gums once the dentures are taken out.

The slim wafer adhesives are manufactured only by one company as long as I know. To apply the wafer you will have to cut the wafer by yourself to match the form of your dentures. This usually performs best in case your dentures match tight and correctly.

Adhesives provide many advantages. Dentures wearers are reporting to have an increased stability of the dentures and it creates a safety feeling whenever eating or communicating with people.
