Eat Your Greens – And Drink Wheatgrass Juice!
We all know that we need to eat our greens in order to maintain a healthy system and to keep our skin glowing and at its best. Wheatgrass is an excellent way to do this as it is one of nature’s few green foods that contain nearly all of the vitamins and trace minerals that the human body needs in order to function at its best. However humans would normally not be able to eat wheatgrass as its structure is made up in such a way that its cellular structure means that it is extremely tough to break down and digest. Humans do not have as long a digestive tract as animals that chew the cud (such as sheep and cattle) and so we would normally not be able to get the goodness of out wheatgrass.
However we can with juicing. If you juice the wheatgrass it will then release all of the goodness that is contained inside as it breaks down the complex structure of the plant. The other great thing about extracting the juice from the wheatgrass plant is that once it has been broken down into liquid form it is then absorbed into the human body an awful lot quicker and as a result it means that you will be able to get as many of those vital vitamins into your blood stream as quickly as possible after you have drank your juice. A great time to drink your juice is on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. When the stomach is empty it means that it absorbs food a lot faster. This means that morning is the perfect time to take your wheatgrass juice.
