How To Clean Your Glass Table
A glass dining table, coffee table, or end table adds a lot of elegance and style to a home. But it is also prone to smudges, and it can be pretty easy for it to look a little worse for the wear. The good news is that cleaning it up is very easy. Here are some simple steps that you can follow to get your glass table sparkling like new.
The first thing to do is clear everything off of the top of the glass table. If you have a centerpiece, or any decorations, placemats, or anything, take it off rather than try to clean around it. Use a dry cloth to wipe off any dirt or dust. Some things will be much easier to remove while they are still dry, so do this first.
Next, you can use a sponge or a rag to wet the table, and wipe it off. With glass, you can be pretty rough in your scrubbing, so long as you aren't using anything with sharp bristles. After you have used a damp cloth or sponge to wipe off the table's surface, you'll want to use a clean dry cloth on it. Watch out for any lint that may accumulate. If you find too much lint coming off onto the table's surface, you can try a specially designed lint-free cloth. A cheaper alternative is to use a newspaper.
Finally, it's a good idea to occasionally give it a more thorough cleaning with chemicals. If you decide to use a commercial cleaner, make sure that you choose one designed for glass. Other cleaners can leave unattractive streaks. You can also use baking soda in warm water, or vinegar in water. Either way, when you finish, you should buff the table's surface with a newspaper, to bring out it's shine
Cleaning your glass dining table is very easy, no matter if it is a simple style, a coffee table, or a drop leaf table. In order to make sure that is always looking its best, you should do this about once a week. As long as you take these simple steps, you are sure to be able to enjoy a sparkling and beautiful glass table all of the time.
