Garden Pond Lighting Solutions

Outdoor light fixtures such as entry lights and spot lights help make our backyards a comfortable place to be at night. Did you know that there are various types of lights available for use in the garden too? Out of all the places in a backyard, it seems like gardens get the least amount of light love. This is probably due to the lack of knowledge on the types of garden lights on the market. Realistically, anyone can light up a garden with a few spot lights, but it takes a creative person to create something truly unexpected. One of the most unexpected areas to illuminate is a garden pond.

For the fortunate individuals who own a garden pond, there are several ways you can light it up. Chances are you have a few fish and maybe some underwater plants inside your pond. Well, if you want to be able to view them at night you’re going to have to invest in a few lights. Pond outside lights, when used at night, can accent objects both inside and out of the water. This includes your Koi fish or other type of aquatic creature. Most of these fixtures are in spot light form, meaning that they shine their light powerfully onto a specific area. The submersible lights get placed on the pond floor where they shine brightly. If you have a fountain which churns up the water, you will notice that the water’s ripples are strongly accented by this light.

Outside of the water, the fountain, above-ground plants and decorative features can be accented with spot lights. Users usually hide the wires underneath decorative rock to make the scene more presentable. On the more exotic side are floating pond lights which flat around on the water’s surface. Some of them project light underwater, while others have a soft glowing body.
