Why You Should Consider a Video Surveillance System
I recently made my Mom very happy with me and it's all due to technology. As you may well know, older folks seem to resist technology for some strange reason. Not all of them but a lot of them. They do not want to get computers and they don't want to use email. It's simply because they are used to the old way of doing things. When you do convince and old schooler to try something new, it can really change their lives for the better.
My Dad has had hip surgery and can't get around like he used to. My Mom was really worried about their property. They live on the outskirts of Mobile, Alabama and my parents have operated a farm for almost 30 years. Dad has always taken care of the place. Since Dad is not getting around so well right now I talked to my Mom about video surveillance systems being installed at some of their buildings so they could monitor from the house. This sort of freaked my Mom out at first, but when I described how she and Dad could watch live video from wireless cameras on the computer she thought it was an idea worth exploring. Mom was using an old flip cell phone and I was able to convince her to upgrade to an iPhone so she could monitor the farm at anytime form her iPhone. Outdoor video surveillance systems are more affordable for my parents now especially since Verizon offers the iPhone now and it's only $49.
Even though my Mom and Dad are in their sixties, they were willing to see how technology could help them manage their farm and land. I feel good about it because my parents now have a security system that will help them stay safer. Sometimes new technology and the older generation mix together very well.
