Batman LEGO Set Review: The Batmobile and the Batcave
Since the day Batman first appeared in a DC Comics release in 1939, people have been fascinated by him. How delicious is it that a rich pseudo-playboy like Bruce Wayne should have a darker, more heroic alter ego? Now there are movies, cartoons, video games and action figures of this beloved caped crusader. Even LEGO has released a line of LEGO Batman sets.
One of the most well known additions to the LEGO Batman series is the Batmobile. Who can resist the charms of this extraordinary vehicle? The Ultimate Collectors' Edition comes with a thousand and forty five pieces. This includes the essential Batmobile turbines, jet engines, the stylish bat wing rear design and gold-rimmed hubcaps with the stunning bat logo. Buyers of this Batman LEGO set are very happy with its overall make, especially the interiors. The level of difficulty is moderate and great for seasoned LEGO owners. Sadly, you have to go to true blue collectors’ shops to get this model because it is no longer manufactured. If you are lucky, you might even get to trade with a LEGO enthusiast (although, not very many would want to part with their LEGO Batmobile, unless they have an extra set).
Another interesting Batman LEGO set is The Batcave, which features Mr. Freeze and the Penguin. Touted to be one of the best sets, it contains one thousand and seventy one pieces, including mini-figures of the Penguin, Bruce Wayne, Alfred (the Butler), Batman, Robin, Mr. Freeze and his Henchman. On top of which, you also get some cool items like a giant computer (along with some smaller ones), a scuba boat for the Wonder Boy, an ice mobile, net-firing cannons, and a cool-looking ice cube.
This set has a moderate to high difficulty level, which makes it a good challenge for all hardcore LEGO lovers out there. While it would have been great if the collection of mini-figures included the notorious Joker, it is still awesome the way it is; especially when you consider its size and the manufacturer’s attention to detail. It is definitely a favorite among Batman and LEGO aficionados and can be easily purchased online.
