Do you love the excitement of racing? Many people don’t realize that they can get married right on a NASCAR speedway. Appropriately enough, a couple can tie the knot right on the start/finish line, take a ride around the NASCAR track, then host the reception.
Looking for unusual wedding venues with a bit less sound and more…water? There are many places, usually islands, that offer scuba weddings. You will probably be able to find a package deal which will include the underwater ceremony, with snacks or a meal to follow later on the beach. There are a lot of other “island” packages, too, with things such as entertainment, with music or dancers, and a feast, “island-style”, included.
Feel like you’d rather jump into eternity with your lover? You can sky dive. Tie the knot on the plane, then jump. Or find a minister who loves the friendly skies as much as you do, and exchange rings and vows while in the air. Either way, this is definitely an unusual wedding venue. You’re likely to be the only one of your friends to ever get married this way.
Maybe you love the idea of being married with the wind in your hair, but you’re not crazy about the part where you hit the ground. You can arrange to celebrate your nuptials while you both stand out on an airplane wing. Or, if you’re especially athletic, climb a mountain. A plateau at the top of a mountain would be not only an unusual wedding venue, but an incredibly beautiful one. You would truly feel as if you were standing on the edge of eternity.
If you have an affinity for animals, you might find your perfect unusual wedding venue is just waiting for you at a farm or zoo. What a story you’ll have to tell your children and grandchildren, when they ask why you had gorillas attending your wedding!
There is also down-hill skiing. And getting married while bun-gee jumping. Whatever you want. Just remember, if you have guests coming, they will want to witness your vows. You will either need a nice, safe place where they can watch, or they can go along with you on your quest, if they want.
